Dr Conal Perrett MB ChB, FRCP(UK), PhD(Lon) undertook his medical and postgraduate studies in Bristol, Oxford and London, becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2001. Choosing to specialise in dermatology, he then completed his higher training at some of the UK's leading hospitals, including The Royal Free Hospital and Barts in London. He is fellowship-trained in dermatological and Mohs surgery and in 2014 was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
As Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon at University College Hospital (UCLH), Dr Perrett is an experienced and highly regarded dermatologist. Skin cancer expertise
Dr Perrett is skilled in advanced therapeutic techniques to treat skin cancer. A recognised expert in Mohs micrographic surgery, he leads the skin cancer service at UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, and was responsible for establishing the Trust's Mohs micrographic surgery programme and photodynamic therapy (PDT) service. He is lead for Mohs surgery on the London Cancer Skin Pathway Board and runs a specialist skin clinic for patients who have undergone heart and lung transplants at Harefield and Royal Brompton NHS Trust.
Dr Perrett also has a special interest in Cutaneous Sarcoma and is a member of the London Sarcoma Service at University College Hospital London, one of the largest Sarcoma Services in Europe.
Dr Perrett is experienced in the diagnosis, treatment and management of all forms of skin condition, including acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, skin allergies, rosacea, excess sweating, scarring and skin cancer. As well as providing the full range of therapeutic procedures such as skin surgery, photodynamic therapy (PDT) and Mohs micrographic surgery, he is highly trained in the latest cosmetic and aesthetic techniques including Botox, laser skin treatments, IPL photorejuvenation and dermal fillers.
Dr Perrett was awarded a PhD by the University of London for his research work on skin cancer. The recipient of an acclaimed Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) Clinical Research Fellowship, he has carried out research work at the London Research Institute, the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Sciences and the St John's Institute of Dermatology.
Dr Perrett continues to be actively involved in dermatological research with a particular emphasis on skin cancer. He has presented his work nationally and internationally and has published papers in leading journals including Science.
As an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College and University College London (UCL), Dr Perrett also has an active teaching role. He personally supervises PhD students and is a PhD examiner for the University of London.
