A highly regarded London dermatologist with over 30 years' experience in the assessment and treatment of skin conditions and a special expertise in skin cancer, photobiology and skin problems in organ transplant recipients.

Dr Jane McGregor MA, MB BChir(Cantab), MRCP(UK), MD(Cantab) graduated from Cambridge University with first class honours. She then completed her clinical medicine and pharmacology training at Guy's Hospital, gaining a distinction, before undertaking general medical training at Royal Brompton and Hammersmith Hospitals where she achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians.

Dr McGregor specialised in dermatology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, a national and international centre of excellence in dermatological treatment, research and education. She is a Consultant Dermatologist at Barts Health NHS Trust and offers private diagnosis, assessment and treatment of skin conditions at The Devonshire Clinic in Central London.

Clinical interests 

Dr McGregor has a special clinical interest in skin cancer, photobiology and sun allergy. She is recognised across the world for her work in the field of skin cancer and skin disease in patients who have received an organ transplant, a group that has a 100-fold higher risk of skin cancer compared to the general population.

Research interests

Since being awarded a Doctorate of Medicine in 2000 for her work on skin cancer, Dr McGregor has continued to play an active research role in the field and has published widely in leading medical journals. 

Currently, Dr McGregor is involved in investigating the development and treatment of skin cancer in immunosuppressed patients at the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science Centre for Cutaneous Research at Barts and The London. As a senior lecturer and honorary consultant dermatologist with a special interest in photobiology and skin cancer at the same Institute, she also has a research interest in the role of drugs in UV-mediated skin cancers.
