general surgery procedures. He is clinical lead at the Royal Free Hospital in
London in the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery unit and has particular interest

Mr Zak Rahman, MB ChB MD FRCS is a consultant

Director for HPB Surgery.
Mr Rahman is a lead consultant for using the latest
laparoscopic techniques in pancreatic surgery and is a part of the HPB surgical
team who have completed the highest number of cases in the UK. The Royal Free
foregut clinical unit has a national reputation for gastroparesis, oesophageal
dysmotility, and complex hiatal hernia repairs.
In addition, he also is skilled in bariatric surgery
and offers a selection of highly complex surgical weight loss treatments at his
clinics and is honoured to have practicing privileges at North London
Obesity Surgical Service.
Extending his knowledge further, Mr Rahmand undertook a
Doctorate of Medicine in disorders of the Pancreas at he graduated. As well as
this he was also a Lecturer at The Woolfson Institute of Minimally Invasive
He is an awarding consultant, receiving a Lord Smith Medal
in 2004 for Pancreatology, continuing this in 2008 he was acknowledged by Royal
College of Surgeons where he was awarded a Hunterian Professorship in Surgery.
He is very active in the research of general surgery and has published over 40
peer reviewed scientific journals, he has written over seven book chapters and
is a frequently international presenter, speaking at over 150 worldwide.
