Following his medical training at Queen's University in Belfast, Dr Kennedy moved to London, holding positions at Guy's Hospital, St Stephen's Hospital and St Mary Abbot's Hospital, the latter two now replaced by the modern, purpose built Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He was then appointed Medical Director of Rehabilitation at the Royal Star and Garter Hospital in Roehampton, a position he held until 2002.
Dr Kennedy has over 30 years' experience in sport and orthopaedic medicine, practising at the world-renowned 30 Harley Street Clinic before its recent move to join The London Sports Injury Clinic at 108 Harley Street. He has a long and varied history of working with sportsmen and women at the very highest level of their game, including Olympic athletes, Wimbledon tennis champions, international cricketers and champion boxers, jockeys and golfers. He has also looked after several national sports teams, perhaps most notably the unbeaten 1974 British Lions Rugby Union team.
