This is a pioneering technique which involves individually extracting the hair follicles without causing damage to the surrounding skin. The hairs are then placed on the balding areas of the scalp, which is skilfully done by their talented and experienced doctors. Medications for hair loss

Finasteride (also known as Propecia) and dustaride (also known as Avodart) are two medications which are known for preventing hair loss. In clinical trials, 80% of participants had a significant reduction in the appearance of their baldness after using Propecia.

Eyebrow reconstruction

Missing eyebrows can be the result of a number of issues, including over plucking, alopecia, scars, injuries to the face, burning or age.  With prices for eyebrow reconstruction ranging from £2500 to £4500, Harley Street Hair Clinic offer their patients single hair grafts, which involves creating or making an eyebrow denser. The results are dramatic, but also undetectable. Scars from face and brow lifts can also be corrected in a similar way.

Scar repair

Scars on the scalp or eyebrows can have a significant impact on a person’s appearance. Some scars are small enough to hide, however others might be in need of scar repairing. Hair restoration on a scarred scalp is a very delicate procedure which requires careful planning, and consideration of the issues that can affect the success of the hair transplantation. Things to consider include:

  • Chronic inflammatory disease which affects the scalp: Most doctors do not recommend having a hair transplant if you have an active disease. It is preferable for the disease to be inactive for two years before a hair transplant is undertaken.
  • Blood supply to the area: Any hair follicles that are transplanted need a blood supply to be viable.
  • Scalp thickness: The thickness of the scar tissue will determine whether the transplant is successful. Too thick, and there can be limited access to the blood vessels for the hair follicles. Too thin and it might be difficult for the hair follicles to hold.
